Consistency Over Comfort

Life after school has a way of hitting differently. Suddenly, there’s no timetable, no syllabus, and no one telling you what comes next. Everything depends on one thing: how consistently you show up for yourself.

On the tech side, I’ve been reflecting on where I’m coming from and where I want to go. My foundation so far has been Flask, HTML, and Bootstrap. It was structured, predictable, and comfortable. React, however, has been… different.

It’s not just HTML with JavaScript. It’s components, state, and reactivity. It is a way of thinking that doesn’t always map to what I know. Sometimes I catch myself applying old habits, and it reminds me that learning something new properly takes patience. That’s exactly what I want: to get better, not just to finish something.

After-school life comes with its own pace. Managing time, staying motivated, and planning ahead, all without a lecturer pushing you, is a new kind of challenge. 😩

Right now, my focus is on getting really solid with React and Next.js. When my skills reach the level I want, that’s when I’ll rebuild this blog and my portfolio. I’m not delaying; I want the next version of this site to truly reflect my growth and the best work I can produce.

For now, it’s all about learning, experimenting, and showing up. Progress may feel slow, but it’s steady. Small wins add up. And even if it’s not perfect yet, that’s okay.
